Good Friday morning. Here are some of the stories making news in Washington and politics today.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Ind., now a top-tier candidate in the Democratic presidential primary, has been largely mum about his stint at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, citing a nondisclosure agreement. Former McKinsey employees helped fill in the blanks.
The Democratic primary season began with the most diverse field in history. But some Democrats fear that the likelihood of an all-white debate stage in December and an all-white final tier of candidates battling it out through months of primary contests could undercut the party’s much-touted image as a bastion of diversity in the Trump era.

Led by Senator Elizabeth Warren, presidential candidates and liberal economists are pushing an unorthodox “pro-growth” argument: Raising taxes for the rich will speed up the economy.
Michael Bloomberg, the most recent entrant in the 2020 presidential race, unveiled his gun control plan Thursday, proposing a sweeping array of federal measures that include a national gun licensing system and stricter background checks.
It was an eventful Thursday for former Vice President Joe Biden. Shortly after John Kerry, the former secretary of state, endorsed Mr. Biden in the primary, Mr. Biden had a heated confrontation with a voter in which he challenged the voter to do push-ups.

Moving ahead with the impeachment inquiry, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on Thursday that the House of Representatives would begin drafting impeachment articles against President Trump. That could set the stage for a vote before Christmas.

Ms. Pelosi fully transformed from an impeachment skeptic to impeachment warrior. How she got there is in part the story of her sense of timing and her methodical approach to decision making.

In the latest flash point in an already long-running battle between the world’s largest economies, the Trump administration has formally objected to the World Bank’s plans to continue lending to China.

Mr. Trump is back at the Supreme Court, this time asking it to block the release of his financial records to a House committee.

Two Democratic senators asked the Justice Department’s internal ethics watchdog to investigate Attorney General William P. Barr for his 1992 blessing of a secret program at the Drug Enforcement Administration that collected bulk records of Americans’ international calls.

In charges unsealed this week, the Justice Department laid out new elements of an effort by an American ally to buy access in Washington. (Spoiler: It was the United Arab Emirates.)
