In September, Minna Dubin wrote an essay for us about a phenomenon she called “mom rage” — the anger and frustration many mothers feel, and that they shove down beneath the surface because “mothers are supposed to be martyr-like in our patience.” She returned to the subject this week, interviewing other moms who are experiencing “unrestrained anger” during the pandemic, when we are being asked to do it all, and be it all. |
As Virginia Duan, a mother of four in the Bay Area told Minna: “It feels as if I am going to physically explode, like having an out-of-body experience where I cannot seem to control the litany of invectives flying from my mouth.” |
