- House Democratic leaders formally called for President Trump’s removal from office. In nine short pages, the draft articles accused Mr. Trump of carrying out a scheme “corruptly soliciting” election assistance from the government of Ukraine in the form of investigations that would smear his Democratic political rivals. - Representative Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, made a case that the House should take up three articles of impeachment against Mr. Trump: abuse of power, obstruction of Congress and obstruction of justice. The third didn’t make it through. Here’s why.
