Good Friday morning. Here are some of the stories making news in Washington and politics today.

A hyper-divided House of Representatives voted Thursday to endorse the Democratic-led impeachment inquiry into President Trump, marking a critical new public phase of the impeachment process.

Not a single House Republican joined Democrats in supporting a resolution outlining the parameters for the next stage of impeachment proceedings, despite having demanded such a vote for weeks.
Only two Democratic lawmakers broke ranks on impeachment: Representatives Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey and Collin C. Peterson of Minnesota, both known as consistent, conservative thorns in their party's side.
A National Security Council aide confirmed that a top diplomat working with Mr. Trump told him that a package of military assistance for Ukraine would not be released until the country committed to investigations the president sought.

Mr. Trump is technically no longer a New Yorker. In late September, Mr. Trump changed his primary residence from Manhattan to Palm Beach, Fla., according to documents filed with the Palm Beach County Circuit Court.

If there was any doubt that Mr. Trump would try to play a role in Britain's upcoming general election, he put it to rest on Thursday, calling in to a London radio show run by Nigel Farage, an insurgent political figure, to heap praise on Prime Minister Boris Johnson and disparage his Labour Party opponent, Jeremy Corbyn.

Leon Cooperman, the billionaire former hedge fund manager, wrote a letter denouncing Senator Elizabeth Warren's critique of him, the finance industry and America's wealthy. She tweeted a response.

Paula White, a personal pastor to Mr. Trump and a follower of a controversial school of faith, has joined the Trump administration in an official capacity, according to a White House official.

The off-year state legislative elections in Virginia next Tuesday will test whether Republicans can appeal to anti-Trump voters by running on issues usually championed by Democrats.

A furor over patient privacy shadowed a four-day hearing this week that will help determine the fate of the last remaining abortion clinic in Missouri.
