Nicolas Cage sees possibilities in art — and maybe life — that no one else does. He's developed his own "nouveau shamanic" acting style. He kept king cobras as pets and talks about doing mushrooms with his cat. He spent $276,00 on a dinosaur skull that he had to return to Mongolia. He went on a literal quest for the Holy Grail. And he has a pyramid waiting for him, as a tomb, down in New Orleans.

But why? Is there a method behind the seeming madness informing so many of his film roles?

In a special edition of our Talk interview, Cage sat down with David Marchese and talked about his acting philosophy, his hopes for his life's work and his friend Johnny Depp's days as a pen salesman.

(Don't have time for the full Cage extravaganza? We made you a highlight reel of the unmissable moments.)
